The extraordinary book project
I have seen my friends publish books that have helped hundreds of thousands of people with their messages. It inspires me so much and I know I have so much to give in a book. I have tried to write a book four or five times and failed but this time the universe changed all this and sent me a guide to make sure I did it!
I was running the takeover season of the Rebel Entrepreneur podcast where listeners took over the show and grilled me with questions. It was so much fun! One of the listeners was J Thorn, a book coach, and at the end of the episode he offered to coach one of my listeners to write a book as part of the show coaching series. Selfishly I jumped at the opportunity and asked if he would coach me on the show. After a little bit of doubt as to the size of the project I had just taken on I jumped in and started working. |
I started by writing this article The Start of a mini-experiment where I asked for help with chapter content and titles and then I moved onto building version 1 of the book here.
I have recorded 8 episodes of the podcast (so far) so that you can follow along with the process that J coaches me through and use it yourself to get your book or project launched. I have actually been surprised at how many of the Rebel principles apply to book writing as well. I think this series, which will be released later in the year, will help you make progress no matter the project you are working on.
The homework that J gave me after the last episode was to write and get feedback on the first three chapters. I was making huge progress up until I broke my hand! I fractured a bone in my right hand which left me unable to type, but after 4 weeks in a cast I am writing again and it feels great; if not mildly uncomfortable!
As a reader of my blog you get early access to the first three chapters and introduction of the book. All I ask in return is that you tell me what you think. I have enabled Facebook commenting below each chapter so that you can write comments, ideas, criticism and more. I would LOVE your help making the book stronger.
As you read each chapter I would love you to have the following questions in mind:
Your help will make this book far stronger for you and for the thousands of people that read it after you. Thank you for being part of the Rebel gang and on this journey with me.

- What resonated with me and what did I want more of?
- What made me disbelieve, doubt or question the writing?
- What would I remove from the book?
- What has Alan left out? What has Alan missed?
Your help will make this book far stronger for you and for the thousands of people that read it after you. Thank you for being part of the Rebel gang and on this journey with me.
