I got to Financial Independence in 2018 and have designed an incredible life that I have to keep pinching my self to realise it is real. In this section I want to share with you what FIRE is, what it is not and everything I have learned about achieving it! Strap in for a FIRE journey!
What is financial Independence
I have a simple definition for this one! It is not often I can say that but I find this one easy to explain
Your assets return more money than you need to live on!!
Simple! You have spent your time and money buying assets that bring you passive income that supports all your needs for the rest of your life!
I have written a longer article about exactly what Financial Independence is here The overall concept is simple, but there is a lot of knowledge that you need to actually make it happen! The questions then start to come. What is an asset? What type of assets should I acquire or buy? How many do I need? How long will this take? I can't even save ten pounds a month, how is this even possible? Why should I care? Let's tackle some of these 1 by 1 and let's see what you think by the end of the articles. My plan is to write a series of articles describing what FI is, how it works and the different tools and instruments you can use to get there. I am going to introduce you to a few of the people I have learned from as well as they have said it far better than I have and I have written articles that really make it clear! |
Here is a list of the articles I have written on Financial Independence so far to help you get going:
